AT&T is a proud supporter of MassGREEN Initiative
AT&T is proud to be a supporter of the MassGREEN Initiative. Through numerous corporate and philanthropic initiatives and other partnerships, AT&T actively works in communities across the country to support efforts that promote economic development and programs that benefit the environment.
The MassGREEN Initiative addresses both of those challenges in a single program.
Established in July 2009 at Springfield Technical Community College, MassGREEN works to develop and deliver energy efficiency workforce training courses that meet the growing need for weatherization professionals. Collaborating with the state’s 15 Community Colleges, the MassGREEN Initiative has successfully developed a program that educates and prepares new workers for the creation of a green economy.
The MassGREEN Initiative is helping ensure that Massachusetts has the quality and quantity of workers and businesses needed to achieve the state’s ambitious energy efficiency goals. With a newly trained workforce in weatherization, it is estimated that a properly weatherized home will lower heating bills by up to 32%, while also reducing the home’s overall consumption of fossil fuels. Just as important, MassGREEN is creating a skilled workforce that can help fuel the growing energy efficiency and green technology sector in Massachusetts.
At AT&T, we’re serious about making a difference in the communities in which we live and work. Our support of the MassGREEN Initiative is a perfect example of that commitment. We invite other to join us in supporting this important and highly effective program.
